A Letter to My Future Self: You Are More Than Enough

What happens when the only person in the way of your success is yourself? I wanted to remind myself of the self-created roadblocks in writing a letter(not a newsletter with gossip). I am usually very fond of writing letters or poetry; however, I asked AI to write a letter to my future self. What came out was very heartwarming.

Dearest Gentle Reader,

I’m writing to you with love, pride, and recognition for how far we’ve come.

I want you to remember that this path we’re on wasn’t easy, but it was powerful because we kept going. We sustained our curiosity, our resilience, and our belief that our story mattered even when we had days when we didn’t feel like enough.

You grew up in the Bronx as a proud Nuyorican woman with a heart for justice, curiosity, and connection, a woman who always tried to make sense of the world and her place in it.

Your professional journey started where compassion met necessity in healthcare, learning every role from floater to support specialist. After years of customer service and technical intersections, you stepped into leadership as a Service Desk Supervisor, overseeing SMARTDesk operations, device management, user support experiences, and compliance work that keeps mission-critical systems running.

You didn’t just work in tech, you translated it for people. You helped teammates, taught others how to communicate with IT, and turned troubleshooting into empathy.

And outside of that?

You built community.

You became the Director of Women’s Education at the Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu, designing curriculum, coordinating volunteer efforts, and breaking barriers for women in cybersecurity.

You stood on stages not just as a speaker, but as a thought leader, sharing wisdom at conferences, teaching OSINT, and even unpacking the cybersecurity lessons hidden in Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Your impact didn’t go unnoticed.

Your peers celebrated you as a Rising Star of the Year 2025 for your commitment to empowering others and elevating the cybersecurity community.

You pushed through moments of self-doubt, raised your voice in spaces that weren’t always ready for you, and kept leaning in even when you couldn’t yet see all the milestones ahead.

We didn’t let “not enough” quiet us.

We didn’t wait until we were “qualified enough” or “certified enough.” We showed up with tenacity, heart, and a master’s degree in cybersecurity, which you earned through grit and late nights.

And every step, whether it felt small or monumental, brought you closer to your purpose.

You merged healthcare empathy with tech intuition.

You integrated community building with technical leadership.

You showed up for people who looked like you and for those who didn’t.

That’s legacy.

So take a moment now, right here, right now to be proud of us.

Not for perfection.

Not for what’s next.

But for who we are becoming.

You are powerful. You are enough. You are worthy of every opportunity you’ve ever dared to dream.

And there’s so much more waiting for you.

With unwavering love and pride,

You 💛
